This is Wonderful, Lisl.
Lisl: Than you so much, Ray
well spotted! i imagine the bird was trying to remain hidden from eye sight.
Lisl: His most likely predator would be a Sparrow Hawk, Ayush
Il est mignon avec ses plumes ébouriffées.
Lisl: He seems more attractive than his elders, Martine
What a beautiful photo!! Well done!
Lisl: Thank you kindly, Elizabeth
What a nice photo Elisabeth.
Lisl: Thank you, Frank
Bonjour monsieur le pigeon, que vous me semblez beau... sans arrière-pensé, cette fois.
Lisl: It's not often I see one as young as this, but I get lots of adults in my garden
Lovely capture Lisl. This pigeon is a beautiful bird
Lisl: I think he is much prettier than the adults, thank you

The red berries are a good food for this bird.
Lisl: Often left until times are hard in the winter
This has a very Christmassy/wintry feel to it, Lisl.
Lisl: It was a bright sharp day, Ginnie

I wonder if he will eat the berries, Lisl. Well spotted, Lisl.
Lisl: They prefer seed, but I have seen them eat small berries, Astrid
Très belle photo !
Lisl: Thank you, Claudine

I looks like it has just come from bathing looking at its lower feathers. It seems to be on a thorny perch, though.
Lisl: Perhaps the thorns don't get through his scaly legs, Alan

Il te présente son meilleur profil
Lisl: He is obviously very fussy about it!
There is something rather endearing about wood pigeons
Lisl: Well, they do rather steal the seed I put out for the smaller birds.........

Lisl: Yes - he is cute
This is not a bird here so it is very nice to see. Lovely shot with the barberries.
Lisl: They are common here, and come in from the neighbouring fields to feed on the seed I put out for the small birds
This is a terrific image Lisl, Maureen puts seed out, not for them, but they tend to pinch most if it before the little birds get a look-in.
Lisl: Thank you, Brian. I know just what you mean about the seed

Just like human reactions to kittens and puppies ...We feed the garden birds a lot. l am afraid the pigeons , the greedy greedy pigeons have got in on the act and have spread the message to their mates. Bill dislikes Sea gulls and l hate pigeons. I go along with Tom Lehrer with his song “ poisoning pigeons in the park.
Lisl: I will have to Google that, innocent that I am.....
his down feather are all fluffed up to keep him warm Lisl... he found a good place for a meal....petersmile
Lisl: He learnt early how to look after himself, Peter
