Taking a break from reading that stone book I see...
Lisl: Well, the writing isn't that clear, Larry - must be tiring!
Jolie statue, je suppose que c'est dans une église.
Lisl: Yes it is - he died a very young man
I like the precision of the details of the suit of this statue, the folds of the garment are splendidly realized and the original pose
Lisl: These alabaster monuments are very special, Marie

My usual stance on the sofa. I usually fall asleep, though, and end up with a "dead" hand.
Lisl: As long as you don't fall off or drop your book, Alan

a wonderful statue in the pose of Le Penseur. At first I thought of a lady, but he is a Sir. I would like to read the inscription.
Lisl: I will send it to you, Philine
It is a fine statue Lisl.
Lisl: Isn't it?

Lisl sent me the inscription to this grave monument - this young Sir died at the age of 21 year, he was "the expectaion of his country, the hope and support of his family..", what a sad story!
Lisl: Thank you, Philine
A very sine figure, I thought it was a young girl until I read your replies, it's the long hair I suppose.
Lisl: Quite a young man - only 21
a beautiful sculpture for this monument Lisl....petersmile
Lisl: It's is so well done, Peter
She don't look dead!
Lisl: That's because she is a "he"!

A reflective pose.
Lisl: Sad to die so young - looks as if he might have been scholarly

What a lovely decoration.
Lisl: The whole tomb was exceptional, Ray
For such a young man, Lisl, there's certainly a touching story behind this.
Lisl: You may like to see his epitaph - I will send it separately

Leaning on that elbow for so many years. It must have gone dead (pun) by now.
Lisl: Nice one, Louis!

a lovely statue
Lisl: The whole monument was so very well executed. You would have loved the work on the wording
He must have come from some wealth, Lisl, to have such a beautiful and elaborate monument.
Lisl: Yes, he came of aristocratic stock, Beverly. I will send you his epitaph
