Toms

My tip on growing tomatoes. In the spring, take a tomato of your choice, halve it and plant it in compost and just cover with compost. You will get many many seedlings in a few weeks. Choose the strongest and as many as you wish, and plant on as usual. What has amazed me this year is the crop I got from one red cherry tomato - yellow and red cherry tomatoes, red and orange baby plum tomatoes + a huge crop of large tomatoes! I haven't counted how many tomatoes I have harvested but it must be well over a thousand.

Hum, de bonnes tomates bio. J'aime beaucoup les tomates cerises.
Lisl: Moi aussi, Martine
i find them pleasing to look at, Lisl, but slicing them or eating them is always something that i have pay a lot of attention to. i like the shine on the plump surface.
Lisl: Shiny and straight out of the garden that minute, Ayush
Good for you Elisabeth, they look nice.
Lisl: Thank you, Frank - they are very sweet
All of that from cutting one tomato in half and covering it with compost! It amazes me, Lisl.
Lisl: It never fails to amaze me, but usually they all come up the same type as the one I plant, Ginnie

It is amazing how nature works that way, Lisl. That is quite the crop you have here. I bet they tasted delicious.
Lisl: This works every year, but the first time I had such variety out of one tomato, Astrid

Lovely toms and a good tip, lisl.
Lisl: Hope you try it, Richard
I must remember to try this... trouble is I don't have a greenhouse
Lisl: I grew half of mine outdoors. You could bring on the seedlings on a window sill

You are so clever Lisl, I am amazed at your crop. Do you have to keep them indoors?
Lisl: I had some in pots in the greenhouse and others outside in the ground
