Memorial

This is the wording to the Memorial window, of which I showed one light as Boat Friday on 19th October. He was defusing a bomb in London, with his team (his secretary and his chauffeur!) when they were all blown up.

This is really something - an amazing memorial.
Lisl: I have never see the like, Elizabeth
Jolis vitraux.
Lisl: The whole window was superb, Martine
What a sad story. A nice tribute to those people who lost their lives to save other lives
Lisl: Very sad, especially as he left a 6-year old boy to inherit his estate

What a story, they could make a TV programme about this man and the tragic events..
Lisl: They could - bomb disposal was only a very small part of his life

What an incredible story and a fine tribute to those doing such a selfless act.
Lisl: As Chris said, it would make a film
Oh my...and, indeed, in a stained-glass depiction. We'll shown, Lisl.
Lisl: This window never ceases to please - it is huge, and the whole window is relevant to his life

That is some history, Lisl. It is like Chris says, the man is worth a movie. I so love this tribute to him.
Lisl: I imagine the family will have had years of interesting history, too, Astrid

He was an Earl and an Earl. Yet, he puttered around with bombs. Extraordinary, to say the least.
Lisl: Everyone gave of their best in the war, Louis. Presumably he was a dab hand at this until he copped it, poor man
Very well done.
Lisl: He really did - a hero in my eyes, Mary

this is indeed quite a tribute, Lisl. i have certainly not seen anything like it before.
Lisl: I have seen quite a few war memorial windows, but they normally follow a standard pattern, showing St. George slaying the Dragon

This is a beautiful memorial window. A fitting tribute by his wife.
Lisl: It is very touching, and she was left with a six-year old to bring up to inherit the estate
