Isn't he lovely!
I got a few photo's of Bewick's Swan's when we were at Martin Mere Wetlands Reserve
Lisl: He is - it was a pity about the mud and the netting, but he shines out of all that

Beautiful aren't they Lisl
Lisl: Yes, and a change from our usual Mute Swan
Hum...très beau ..
Bravo pour la photo

I've only ever been to the Slimbridge Reserve once but I loved it especially seeing all the swans. This once needs to get back in the water to hide its dirty bottom.
Lisl: I should go more often, especially in winter when the Bewick's and Whooper Swans are in. It is only an hour or so away

This looks almost sad Lisl, as if it’s imprisoned, though I know it isn’t.
Lisl: Yes - I would have been happier to have had a picture of one in the open, Chad, but needs must

Je me méfie de cet animal
JP
Lisl: Yes, of course, but it is a free bird, JP - it is just standing by the wire fence
I have never seen "in live" this breed of swan. He is beautiful with his yellow beak and under this light
Lisl: They come to Slimbridge (an hour or so away from me) every winter -over 100 of them
A fine shot, it seems to have a longer neck than some types of Swan.
Lisl: Yes, it is quite different, Brian. I like the yellow and black bill
Wouldn't it love the water to swim in! Nicely lit.
Lisl: It had plenty of water (Slimbridge is a Wetland reserve) - it must have been standing in the mud instead of swimming
i have never seen a swan out of the water Lisl... thanks for sharing that with me....petersmile
Lisl: They also graze on grassy fields, Peter

Beautiful smile

It is a long time since I visited Slimbridge.
Lisl: I should go more often - it is always such a good day out
