i imagine it would have been quite some work to create the scaly skin on the creature to the top right, Lisl.
Lisl: A real craftsman has carved this, Ayush
That is some intricate carving.
Lisl: It is amazing what could be done with what were probably quite primitive tools
Fascinating...
Lisl: Most unusual - not sure what it depicts, Larry

They are fabulous...perhaps intended to keep the youngsters amused while the oldsters practiced a bit of ritual?
Lisl: If so, the children would have loved them as there were several panels, and quite a few missing, I guess
Pretty amazing, aren't they!
Lisl: They are - the sort of thing I love to find when I go on a Church crawl
C'est joliment sculpté.
Lisl: It is curiously carved, Martine
Do you have a sense for how old this is, Lisl? "Quite primitive," I'm sure.
Lisl: I suspect 16th Century, Ginnie

Fascinating carvings! Is this a sheep on the right?
Lisl: I think it is some sort of mythological beast, Philine - it seems to have claws
These must be medieval wooden bits I would imagine Lisl
Lisl: Yes, they must be, Bill

Some strange shapes here. I have to wonder what the artist was taking at the time smile
Lisl: It's amazing what gets into Churches, Alan - I must show some fertility figures!

Fascinating reliefs Lisl.
Lisl: Aren't they just, Chad. More on Friday
Un travail de precision magnifique !
Je voudrais te presenter mes meilleurs voeux pour cette nouvelle année un peu en retard
Et j'espère encore beaucoup de partages
Amitiés
Lisl: Thank you so much, Claudine. I also wish you well for the New Year, and will enjoy sharing your pictures
I hope the first panel is representative Of A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT. Alma is in my face. Sorry about the caps.
Lisl: I hope so, too, Mary. After some deliberation, I considered it safe to post it! If Chris hasn't commented otherwise, you can rest assured!
You excel in finding these lovely little carvings Lisl.
Lisl: Always on the look-out, Brian, thank you
Beautiful artistic work.
Lisl: It has stood the test of time, too

It is very finely detailed.
Lisl: More to come on Friday, from the same carver, I think
They look to be very old
Lisl: At least 1500s, I should think
Pretty early, I would think.
