i quite like the double headed figures, Lisl.
Lisl: I am pleased you do, Ayush - they are certainly different
ancient and modern at the same time...
Lisl: Timeless then, Larry
Interesting that they created mirrored images... I would think it unusual?
Lisl: Yes - I see this sort of thing only occasionally, Elizabeth

Wonderful wooden bits, Lisl...worth visiting this church just to see these!
Lisl: There are some wonderful survivals in these remote Cornish Churches, Ray (I can never resist an ancient Church - it is very unusual not to find something of interest)

Wonderful warm colours here and great details. So much to see.
Lisl: I have quite a collection from this particular Church, Astrid
Très jolis détails.
Lisl: Imagine when they were new!
Isn't wood amazing, Lisl...and the artists who know how to carve it like this!
Lisl: It is, Ginnie - I never cease to wonder at their skill and ingneuity

Faces from the past. I wonder if these were real people or simply decoration Lisl?
Lisl: They look quite exotic, a bit similar to some Elizabethan secular furniture that depicted the newly found North American Indians

The faces on the left particularly look like native Americans rather than English people. Ray probably appreciated the pair on the right.
Lisl: I thought that, too

I assume these are rather modern carvings, very interesting - Adam and Eve.
Lisl: No - these are 16th Century carvings, Philine
The colours in the wood add to the delight of these carvings Lisl
Lisl: And a little paint remaining, too, Bill

The artist had to squash these heads to make them fit into the boxes Lisl.
Lisl: Poor distorted heads, Chad
The variety of colours and the almost surreal carvings make this an interesting panel
Lisl: It really jumped out at me, Martin
Even more beautiful than the image of yesterday
Lisl: Thank you so much, Marie
jolis détails!! amitiés
Lisl: Thank you. Amitiés
Great shot Lisl. Every time I see your images like this I tell myself i must look round more in churches, and every time I don't!!!! There is a church at Croome Court I believe, perhaps you should give us all a tutorial session on church bits and pieces.
Lisl: I will be pleased to, Brian. But not all Churches have survivals like this, and Croome won't as the medieval Church was demolished and a new Church erected in 1763 (not old as Churches go).
Interesting that the male has long hair and the woman's is coifed.
Lisl: The whole panel is quite odd, Mary
A fine bit of work.
Lisl: It is, Tom
