Very nice. None around here with a colour anything like that.
Lisl: We have three woodpecker species in this country - this is the largest. Thank you

Lisl: A treat for me for one to come to the bird-bath outside the dining room window
Wonderful shot of this beauty! He reminds me of our Northern Flickers!
Lisl: I Googled "Northern Flickers" as I hadn't heard of them - I learn that they are woodpeckers, too

It’s looking as if it knows that there is water in there but doesn’t know how to get at it.
Lisl: I hope it managed in the end, Chad

Many happy returns of the day birthday girl. I wish you many many more Lisl.
Lisl: Thank you very much, kind sir
Wow fancy having this beauty in your garden!
Lisl: Yes - we don't see them very often, but in the summer they come in for ants on the lawn
I didn't know it was your birthday today!

Lisl: I try to keep it dark, Bill - thank you
I have never seen such a thing! What a beautiful bird. It is quite like a flicker in shape but certainly not colour.

Happy Birthday!
Lisl: Yes, Elizabeth said it was like a Flicker, which I hadn't heard of before. And thank you
What a privilege to have a beautiful bird like this in your garden.
Manyy happy returns for your birthday, have a great day.
Lisl: Thank you very much, Brian. I love it when a Green Woodpecker (or a Great Spotted Woodpecker) comes into the garden to feed. Normally I see the former in the summer when it comes in to catch ants, and the latter on the nuts in the feeder in the winter

Wow! How fantastic to see one so close up, I have only ever spotted one flying by.

Hope you are having a lovely birthday!
Lisl: Thank you, Anne - a nice day today with my Cousins. I get these Green Woodpeckers in the garden "anting"
Interesting color... I like the watering can, too...
Lisl: I have four watering cans, but this one only ever has very clean water in it to top up the bird bath
Beautiful capture of this woodpecker. He is not afraid by the photographer. LOL!
Lisl: I was hiding in the dining room, Marie!
Nice catch, Elisabeth.
Lisl: Thank you, Frank - it was a treat to see this
A little bird tells me it's your birthday ! Have a very happy one, Elisabeth.
