i like the keen look on this handsome bird, Lisl. and the gentleman gives an impression that he has worked with birds of prey quite a bit.
Lisl: He certainly was very knowledgeable, Ayush
Nice photo, Lisl! This looks like one of our Harris Hawks... a protected species in North America.
Lisl: Thank you for the ID, Elizabeth
Caught in the steady gaze of that little guy.
Lisl: I thought the sunlight enhanced the eyes too, Michael

He looks a bit owlish smile
Lisl: I am sure he belongs to the Owls & Hawks Conservancy, Louis
LOL at Louis, but it's true. We saw birds of prey like this while In America this year and got our education. I was glad to hear that all those they held in captivity were birds that were injured in one way or the other, even though they could still "fly free."
Lisl: That's very good, Ginnie

A cracking image. Even without the bird, it would be a fine portrait (I especially like the lighting) but the the look of the bird adds to it.
Lisl: Thank you, Alan - I did wonder about the light on his glasses, and then decided it might be OK

The bird is very interested in you and your camera Lisl
Lisl: It had a very intelligent eye, Bill

The handler certainly looks the part.
Lisl: Quite a character, Martin
Fine candid portrait, Lisl!
Lisl: Thank you kindly, Tom
Great photo of a dying art. These birds were used a lot more in the past.
Lisl: Thank you, Mary. This is the first I have ever seen
A great double portrait...
Lisl: Thank you very much, Larry
A fine looking bird isn't it. The chap looks very much like an enthusiast for these types of birds, they always seem to have beards and longish hair.
Lisl: Part of the persona, perhaps
We have a local guy who is very similar. His Harris hawk got loose once, I came home to find it on my roof. A nice portrait, Elisabeth.
Lisl: That was exciting, Frank, and thank you
he looks like one cool dude Lisl... but the Falcon is magnificent....petersmile
Lisl: They complement each other, Peter
