Flat battery, but I am guessing about 1400.
Lisl: Actually taken at 1112, Ray, but good guess
That is is stunning. It has the beauty of age.
Lisl: Ans it has stood the ravages of a south-west wind for years, Michael

In other words, make the best of things whilst you can
Lisl: Yes, indeed!
WOW, Lisl. That's a stunner! I love the quote at the bottom as an alternative to "Time Flies." smile
Lisl: Same sad message though

This is a stunner. Love the quote too. 'As long as the sun keeps shining, we'll see time passing by'... (Astridian saying)
Lisl: Nice one, Astrid

Psalm 90: 10: "The days of our age are threescore years and ten; and though men be so strong that they come to fourscore years, * yet is their strength then but labour and sorrow; so soon passeth it away, and we are gone."
Lisl: Thank you for the source, Philine

A timeless (?) memorial.
Lisl: Yes, thank you, Louis - timeless indeed
Not much sun this day but what a find.
Lisl: One of the best I have seen on a Church, Mary
They really went in for artistic and memorable sundilas in the old days.
Lisl: They did, and every so often I come across an extra-special one like this, Brian

Obviously well thought of at the time. Whenever I check the time on a sundial, I have to remember that most be in situ long before BST was thought of!
Lisl: And sometimes they are covered by a later porch!
It passeth quicker every bloomin' year
Lisl: Don't it just!
that is quite the ornate gravestone from 1779 for the Vicar and his wife Lisl... great find and nicely composed....petersmile
Lisl: It's a sundial, Peter. And Nehemiah Williams and Francis Croker would have been the Churchwardens in 1779 when it was put up, thank you
