I don't know the story, Lisl, but really like the photo-opportunity it gave you.

Ah yes, I see a similar colour now to my red rocks image. It is a beautiful timber; I never knew that its as that colour.

Un rouge presque sanguin qui rappelle cet ancien arbre, jadis tout vert...
Une image légèrement cruelle.
Lisl: Yes - it does recall blood. Perhaps these tree suffer more than others when being cut down
