Where there is smoke...
Lisl: ..........there is a man tending a bonfire
it reminds me that now on my phone, if i look up Google maps, it is able to tell me, in addition to other things, the air quality and UV index - although i think it is probably generalized over an entire district or perhaps a city.
Lisl: That is quite a thing, Ayush

looks kinda dangerous

i guess it's smoldering ?
Lisl: It was being tended, and every so often burst into flame again
Great shot, Lisl!!
Lisl: Thank you, Elizabeth
Dangereux ...mais belle photo
Bonne journée
Lisl: Under control, Claudine - a man was tending it

a fascinating image! But also some air pollution?
Lisl: Very much so, Philine. And we are not supposed to have bonfires until after 6 pm

One of the delights when I was a nipper was building bonfires especially on winter's day. Probably the environmentalists will be tut-tutting at such things these days.
Lisl: I never could resist a bonfire, but can't remember when last I had one

The furnaces of hell remain stoked..

Was I with you when you took this Lisl?
Lisl: You have a good memory, Chris - this was taken in 2014 in Widcombe

Oh yes, this is gorgeous Lisl, a bit dark for you but I would have to have posted this on a Monday. If you had not told us that it’s a bonfire it would has seemed very mysterious.
Lisl: Sorry - I don't do Black Mondays, probably as I don't have many black pics
Strewth that is a bit of an out of control bonfire by the look of it!
Lisl: No, it was OK, Bill - it was being tended
I like very much this atmosphere between shade and light
Lisl: Thank you, Marie
I like the picture, something you don't see much these days. I actually quite like the smell of bonfire smoke, it always reminds me of my Dad burning the garden cuttings when I was a lad.
Lisl: It's quite a nostalgic smell, isn't it, Brian? As I walk in the countryside a lot, I often smell and see bonfires, which is a real pleasure
Certainly a dramatic bit of smoke. Good shot with the detail of the fence standing out so.
Lisl: Thank you, Mary - it looked better than this on the day, but the picture gives some idea........
Not allowed to have them in Sheffield!
Lisl: I imagine this would be frowned on, Tom

Is it in control?
Lisl: Absolutely - it was being tended
That is a magnificent shot.
Lisl: Kind of you, Michael
J'en accepte l'augure mais cette image fait un peu peur.
Lisl: Fire is terrifying, but this is a very black bonfire being looked after
It's somehow a better picture for not showing the flames...
Lisl: Strange that, Larry - as it happened, I didn't see any flames
