Good one, Lisl.
Lisl: Thank you, Ray
I thought they dried as they flew... oh well...smile
Lisl: This is their traditional way of drying out, Larry
He looks a funny chap Lisl.
Lisl: Perhaps it's his rather contorted shape that makes you think that, Chad
I always enjoy seeing these, Elisabeth, this one being no exception.
Lisl: They look as if they have character, Frank, though they probably don't!

Ce cormoran est superbe, jolie photo.
Lisl: Merci beaucoup, Martine. J'espère que vous allez bientôt montrer d'autres photos
Nice catch, with his foot slipping off!
Lisl: Perhaps he had pins and needles, Eizabeth!
That is a handsome looking fellow. Very nice shot.
Lisl: This was taken on a bitterly cold day. I wouldn't have enjoyed drying out in it
Your new camera is strutting its stuff, Lisl. You must be very happy!
Lisl: I think I will enjoy using this one, but perhaps not for every day - it is quite heavy

They are very distinctive when they do this. I got confused in Orkney between shags and cormorants. The same family apparently. I was looking at shags but now I can see the difference.
Lisl: It is easy once you get your eye in, Alan!

A pity we can't quite see the green sheen to the plumage Lisl

What for bride wings he have!
Lisl: I am always surprised that they are not waterproof, Philine, considering they are water birds
Good detail in the head but less so in the plumage.
Lisl: Dark again, Bill, thank you

On a l'impression qu'il a chaud et qu'il se ventile légèrement...
Lisl: This was on a very cold winter's day, so i think he was drying out his wings

Great shot. This one has a few white spots on it. Is that common in the UK for cormorants?
Lisl: Adults have white patches on the thighs and on the throat in the breeding season
I miss the cormorants here in winter. They are such a part of certain familiar landscapes. Well done.
Lisl: Thank you, Mary - I rather like Cormorants, too

Lisl: Thank you very much, Anne - I am looking forward to getting down tot he Levels again to add to my new repertoire
I adore photos of animals that you present since a few days. They are magnificent and this very proud Cormorant on his perch
Lisl: That is so kind and thoughtful of you, Marie. You are the best wildlife photographer I know!
it a goof capture of the cormorant drying his wings Lisl...
we don't like them very much on Remi Lake... they eat their weight in our fish every day...
there is a small flock of 20 that comes here every 3rd year or so....petersmile
Lisl: I usually only see them on lakes, but also occasionally flying inland
Nice one, Lisl
Lisl: Thank you, Richard. Today I walked along the River Trym
Looks like that long zoom is coming in handy!
Lisl: I think it will be worth purchasing, Tom
