I think this is a "stick moth". A camouflage moth in the shape of a stick...... I am impressed that you saw that one, but then, you are the expert on moths...... fabulous find, Lisl.
Lisl: I can't say yea or nay at this stage, Astrid - but tune in Wednesday!

Well as I am not allowed to answer I'll go and and sing Jackie a song, then I'll proceed downstairs and serenade Ratty XIIA. Maybe then I'll go next door and wake the neighbours up by shouting through their letter boxes, then...
Lisl: Excellent displacement activities, Chris

Oh, sorry, I don't know, but I read Astrid's comment, and I think she is right. Yes, you are the moths lady ...Chris is in a very good mood today!
Lisl: Look in on Wednesday, Philine
Is this a peppered moth caterpillar, Lisl? I cheated and Googled for a caterpillar that looks like a stick and that's what I came up with. Who knew!!!
Lisl: Wait for Wednesday, Ginnie!!

It's stick .. it was once part fo a tree until it branched out. Actually I've no idea but I'm guessing from your love of fluttery things, it is some sort of moth.
Lisl: Well, tune in Wednesday, Alan

It’s that stickle stuff which is annoying when it sticks to one’s clothing Lisl, oh and a twig as well.
Lisl: Not good enough, Chad!
I believe it is a stick insect - or a stick....
Lisl: No!
I'm sure it isn't a short piece of stick because of your love of natural history, Ginnies suggestion is quite good but it doesn't match any pictures I've come up with for that creature so I will wait to fing out on Wednesday.
Lisl: Ginnie isn't correct, Brian
Not hazarding a guess, Lisl, but I suspect there are quite a few right answers posted.
Lisl: Not yet, Beverly
I think of a piece of wood on which an insect must be put but I am not certain at all that it is exact then I shall wait for your answer
Lisl: Please to wait, Marie

Some kind of a pupae I guess - somewhere in the direction of stick moths.
Lisl: Nope!

Its the greater twig moth, surely. Or perhaps a Buff Tip.
Do you mean the bit of birch twig?
Lisl: That's what it's meant to look like, Tom - but no
Some kind of bug. That is as close as I get.
